Couldn't load pickup availability
A 2" white oak end grain board for daily cooking: thick enough to stay put on the counter, light enough to lift to the sink. End grain is easy on knife edges. 12x19 to 18x24, one- or two-sided, juice groove optional.
Why white oak
White oak is light to medium brown with a subtle olive cast. Its closed pores make it naturally water-resistant, which is why it is the wood of whiskey barrels and boats. At 1,350 lbf on the Janka hardness scale, it is one of the tougher cutting surfaces we build and wears well for years.
How it's built
Edge grain boards are built from long strips of white oak glued side by side, so you cut along the length of the grain. The result is a flat, tough surface that needs less upkeep than end grain and shows off the long grain of the wood. Every board is sanded smooth and finished with food-grade mineral oil and our Board Butter.
